MY INCONSISTENT WELLNESS ROUTINE (& WHAT I'M DOING TO CHANGE IT)

while I can think of a slewwww of adjs. to describe myself,
the one that sticks out most because I both value & despise it is: inconsistent

the gemini in me loves the back and forth, the spontaneous changing of my wants and needs, but the so-called "adult" in me can't stand the unpredictability. finding a routine is -almost- impossible and ironically, I'm the type of person who needs some sort of regiment to live my best life.

I've seen how positively I can grow when I reaaaally tried to enforce a routine but lately, I've been LIVING. & as thankful as I am for all the bottomless brunches, five course meals w/ top-shelf drinks & 4am post-bar nyc street walks, it's time to be livin' even better.

recently, I could feel the toxins creeping in. I actually felt the negative side effects from my diet, drinking and sleeping habits, etc., so I decided to change before they completely overruled me & I've decided to share my latest wellness journey for two reasons:

1) to hold myself accountable for not only making, but maintaining these lifestyle changes &
2) so anyone else feeling & living like me has someone to relate to & more importantly, learn from.

currently, the best decision I made was to sign up for CLASS PASSa monthly membership for work out classes at different studios in your area. I try to go to the gym but w/o a trainer, I'm useless...not because I don't know what I'm doing, but because I don't have the extra push I need for a real work out. the instructors at the classes I take are experts at what they do and tbh, some of the most motivational speakers I've ever listened to so hell yeah, I'm going to keep going.

more about class pass:

+ the membership gives you a specific # of credits & each class is worth credits, so however you want to mix & match your classes is up to you! (for ex: the spin class I take is 8 credits, whereas the hot yoga class I take is only 6.)
+ if you go to the same studio more than 2x in your cycle, it will cost you addl credits
+ if you cancel a class less than 12hrs before, you'll be charged $15 so accountability is huge here! (this alone has kept me from bailing on classes.)

SIGN UP VIA THIS LINK FOR A DISCOUNT ON YOUR FIRST MONTH'S MEMBERSHIP
& leave any questions/personal feedback about class pass in the comments!

here's to yet another health journey! I'm excited to see what I learn along the way about both myself & the wellness world, and to share allll that goodness w/ whoever needs it.

x, nicole

  1. I'm trying to be more consistent in my wellness routine too! I love the idea of a classpass and that's definitely something I'll look into postgrad. I love the fact that it charges you a cancellation fee because that would totally motivate me! While my school's gym is free for students to access, I also feel like I just can't workout by myself because I never feel motivated. My college offers a fitness pass that you pay for up front and then can take as many group classes as you want, so I think I'm definitely going to invest in that next semester!

  4. I tried Classpass back when I used to live in Charlotte a few years ago! There were so many cool fitness studios on it. The apartment complex that I live in right now has a pretty decent gym that meets my needs so I've been working out there to save $$ on a gym membership!
